This new addition to the food scene located at The Mez shopping complex has a exudes a great vibe. From the moment you approach, the ability to get peeks inside at the warmth of the colours and mix of textures, you can’t help but have high hopes about the food.
The staff were very friendly and throughout the dinner service, checked in to ensure nothing was amiss. We were advised of the daily special which was written on the big blackboard and whilst the menu wasn’t extensive there was enough to choose from. We decided that we would opt for the mains with no entrée this time so we could save ourselves for dessert. Very important to plan these things!
When the mains arrived they were presented on wooden boards which gave it a very rustic feel. The only thing was being so flat, there was nothing to stop the juice from my pork running off the board and pooling around it on the table. The meals were overall tasty and well cooked, with only minor misses such as the sauce for the steak and potatoes being so sour it was like sucking a lemon straight and the celeriac slaw that came with the panko pork was a little bland and wouldn’t have been missed if it wasn’t on the board. However, we were happy with the overall of the mains.
The desserts were well worth the wait as both desserts were completly polished off. There was nothing to be faulted from the dessert. So when you go, make sure you save some room!
If all peasants ate this well, I’m sure they would be pretty happy.
