a journey of life's pleasures…

High tea at Rochelle Adonis has been on my list for a while but it’s taken me a while to get to it. Having booked a few weeks ago, I was very excited to find that we were going to be dining at their new premises in a refurbished house which is a much larger premises. The theme is still very much the same, vintage and girly. Guys you’ve been warned!
The mismatched settings and vintage glass water bottles put you in the mood for the giggly afternoon that is about to ensue amongst the yummy delicacies. With the offer of two pots of tea during the sitting one at the beginning and one during the sweet courses, I decided to start with the traditional English Breakfast to which I would finish with a fruity tea. There were a few to choose from.
The savoury plate that arrived was well presented and had a great mix of bite sized tasters. My favourite was the chestnut soup which was full of flavour and well seasoned. As with tradition, there was a plate of cucumber sandwiches to share.
Following this was a palate cleanser which was a beautiful and refreshing apple and watermelon sorbet. Yum! Then followed a chorus of oohs and aahs as they bought out the sweet treats. There was a little pot of sundae made with Rochelle Adonis own ice cream, eclair, galette and meringue. Together with the second pot of tea, ‘Garden Party’ made with a combination of hibiscus and rose leaves, what a great way to finish.
I recommend getting a group of friends together and have yourself a little high tea party, Rochelle Adonis style.
